Blue Flame Credit Union is a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution organized to promote thrift and provide credit to members. Originally chartered in 1954, Blue Flame has grown in membership, assets and reach.

Duke Energy Employees Can Join Blue Flame!

Employees and retirees of Duke Energy, as well as their immediate family members, are invited to join Blue Flame Credit Union. Immediate family members include spouses, children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents and siblings.

Once a Member, Always a Member

Blue Flame Credit Union was founded to provide financial services to the employees, family members & retirees of Duke Energy & Piedmont Natural Gas. However, this does not mean that we only serve these members solely. Our motto “Once a Member, Always a Member” means that even if you leave Duke Energy & PiedmontNatural Gas, you remain a Blue Flame member. Once you join, you are a member for life, as long as you maintain an active account.

With a small $5.00 deposit into a share/savings account, you will establish your membership at Blue Flame and immediately begin receiving all the benefits that come with membership and ownership of a credit union. Open an individual account, joint account, or joint account with a minor.
